Yummy Mummies, Aspire Photography Training, October 27th

I've been very quiet on the blogging front as I am just home from a bit of a road trip. Starting with a family shoot in London, then 3 days training with Adam Alex followed by a week in the Lake District running 3 training days at Aspire and fitting in a weekend in a camper van with my family.

So - a bit behind with edits etc. However here are some images from my latest Yummy Mummies course. Due to time of year and the weather we hosted the day at the Royal Hotel - good news for keeping the bump and babies warm and comfortable - but tricky for the photographers who had to rely on ISO and wide apertures.

First of all we have Baby Mia. I photographed her mum Laura just days before giving birth so it was lovely to see her again and meet Mia. When I'm talking to the photographers before we begin shooting I'm always warning them that we are unlikely to get any of the naked, sleepy shots BUT we were very lucky with Mia. Hats provided by the lovely Linda at Rocket Clothing.

The we have the adorable and totally scrumptious Joseph. I could have taken this fella home with me. Never a winge or a moan - just big beaming smiles. Rachel (superstar stylist at Aspire) rolled in the pumpkins for a bit of fun just days before Halloween.

And finally the most magnificent bump I've every photographed - Sarah joined us on her birthday with her husband Nick and daughter Emily. You won't be surprised to learn that she is carrying twins - and I'm really hoping I get to photograph the boys when they arrive. I talked to the delegates about using various types of lighting - and we explored side light, back light and soft diffused frontal lighting on the day.

  1. Have just booked on your January course and can't wait! Lovely pictures.

  2. Hi Kate,

I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful shots of my twin bump. You managed to make my giganta-bump look gorgeous and I will treasure the photographs always.

I also wanted to let you know that the bump has landed. My boys are finally here and are as cute as buttons! Joshua and Oliver are keeping us and their big sister very busy!

Please bear us in mind if you need any baby models for your next Yummy Mummy course. It would be fabulous to have the before and after shots!

Thanks again for a wonderful experience and fabulously special photographs!

Sarah, Nick, Emily, Joshua and Oliver
